Description

The Armadillo officinalis ‘Tamarix’ is a locality form of the well-known A. officinalis , collected from areas dominated by Tamarix trees in the Mediterranean region. This morph often shows subtle differences in patterning and colouration compared to the standard form, making it a fascinating choice for collectors who enjoy locality-specific isopods.

Like all Armadillo officinalis , they are excellent rollers, curling into a perfect ball when disturbed. They thrive in well-ventilated enclosures with a clear moisture gradient, offering both dry and humid zones. A nutrient-rich substrate with plenty of leaf litter, rotting wood, and supplemental calcium will ensure healthy growth and reproduction.
