Description

The Venezuelan Suntiger ( Psalmopoeus irminia ) is one of the most striking arboreal tarantulas in the hobby, admired for its jet-black body, vivid orange markings, and bright tiger-striped legs. A fast-growing and highly active species, it makes an incredible display animal for experienced or confident intermediate keepers.

At 1–2 cm, juveniles are already bold feeders and will quickly establish themselves in a secure arboreal enclosure. Adults reach an impressive size and are known for their elaborate web tunnels and retreats, which they construct in cork tubes or vertical hides.

Although defensive and very fast, this species is hardy under the right conditions. Provide a tall enclosure with good ventilation, vertical climbing structures, and moderate humidity for best results.
