Description

The Unicorn Snail ( Subulina octona ) is a small, slender tropical land snail, nicknamed the “Unicorn Snail” for its elongated, spiralled shell. Growing to just 1.5–2 cm, they are active, fast-breeding, and highly adaptable, making them a popular addition to terrariums and bioactive setups.

They thrive in humid environments with a nutrient-rich substrate and access to plenty of leaf litter, decaying plant matter, and calcium for shell growth. Colonies reproduce quickly, establishing self-sustaining populations that add both function and interest to terrarium ecosystems.

With their delicate shell shape, rapid breeding, and hardy nature, the Unicorn Snail is an excellent choice for beginners and experienced keepers alike, either as a cleanup crew or as a fascinating micro-snail to observe in colonies.
