⚠️ Shipping Update – Heatwave Delays

Due to the ongoing UK heatwave, we've temporarily paused shipping of all live livestock and plants to ensure they arrive safely.

The good news is that temperatures are forecast to drop significantly next week, and we'll be resuming dispatches.

Current dispatch schedule:

  • Orders placed 29th June – 5th July: Dispatching Monday.
  • Orders placed 6th July – 12th July: Dispatching Tuesday & Wednesday.
  • New orders placed from today: Dispatching from 27th July.

We've built up a large backlog during the heatwave, so we're bringing in additional staff and implementing a new workflow to get orders out as quickly as possible.

Description

The Timor Shield Mantis ( Rhombodera kirbyi ) is a bold and impressive species, instantly recognisable for its large, rounded thoracic shield and vivid green colouration. Growing to an adult size of up to 10 cm, it is one of the more striking members of the Rhombodera genus.

This species is robust yet active, thriving in enclosures with plenty of vertical space, ventilation, and climbing structures. They prefer warm temperatures and slightly elevated humidity, making regular misting important.

Feeding is straightforward, as the Timor Shield Mantis is a voracious predator that readily accepts a range of livefoods, including flies, roaches, and crickets.

Ideal for intermediate keepers, this mantis combines size, personality, and visual appeal, making it a standout addition to any invertebrate collection.
