Description

Our Shredded Rotten Wood is an essential addition to terrariums and bioactive vivariums, offering both ecological function and custodian nutrition. When mixed into substrates, it provides:

• A natural food source for isopods, millipedes, and other detritivores
• Improved drainage and aeration
• A slow-release fertiliser effect, as custodians break it down and recycle nutrients back into the soil for plant growth

Because rotting wood makes up a large portion of the natural diet of many species, we use this material exclusively with all of our isopod and millipede colonies at Micro Exotics with excellent results.

⚠️ Important Note: This product is a natural, non-sterile material sourced from outside and may contain live native invertebrates. If you prefer to sterilise before use, simply place the bag in your freezer for 72 hours and allow it to fully defrost before adding to your setup.

Available in small (500 ml) and large (2 L) bags, depending on the size of your project.
