Description

The Porcellio hoffmanseggi ‘Orange’ is a spectacular colour morph of one of the largest Porcellio species in the hobby. Reaching up to 3 cm, these giants boast a rich orange body tone that makes them even more eye-catching than the standard form. Their size and striking colouration make them a true centrepiece species for advanced isopod collections.

They thrive in enclosures with excellent airflow, a defined moisture gradient (humid retreat alongside drier areas), and a deep, nutrient-rich substrate. A steady supply of leaf litter, decaying wood, and supplemental calcium is essential to maintaining healthy, thriving colonies. Breeding is slower than in smaller Porcellio species, but colonies reward patient keepers with large, long-lived, vividly coloured individuals.
