Description

The Porcellio bolivari is a hardy and attractive Mediterranean isopod species. Typically sandy-grey to brown in colour, they feature a smooth body structure that allows them to thrive in drier environments compared to many tropical isopods.

They prefer enclosures with a clear moisture gradient, good ventilation, and access to plenty of leaf litter and decaying wood. Colonies breed steadily and establish well, making them a reliable choice for bioactive enclosures as well as standalone colonies.

With their resilience, adaptability, and ease of care, the Porcellio bolivari is an excellent species for beginners while still offering interest for experienced collectors who enjoy Mediterranean isopods.
