Description

Lasiocyano sazimai , formerly known as Lasiodora sp. “Sazimai”, is a highly sought-after New World tarantula, best known for its stunning iridescent blue colouration. Under the right lighting, specimens display vivid electric blues across the legs and carapace, making it a true standout species in any collection.

Primarily terrestrial with occasional burrowing tendencies, this species will make use of hides, cork bark, and shallow substrate to create retreats. It is often visible, especially as it matures, and can make an excellent display tarantula when kept in a well-structured enclosure.

Temperament is typically more manageable than Old World species, though individuals can be skittish or defensive when disturbed. As a New World species, it may utilise urticating hairs as a primary defence.

Feeding response is strong, and growth is steady under stable conditions. This species does well in slightly drier setups with access to a water dish, avoiding excessive moisture.
