Description

Flake Soil is a specially fermented hardwood substrate, perfect for raising most beetle larvae and highly beneficial for isopods and millipedes. Rich in nutrients and softened through fermentation, it is readily consumed by custodians and helps create a healthier, more natural environment.

Because rotting wood makes up a significant portion of the natural diet of many invertebrates, we highly recommend adding flake soil to your substrates. It provides both a direct food source and a supportive microhabitat that encourages natural behaviour and colony success.

At MicroExotics, we use flake soil with all our isopod and millipede species with excellent results, making it a proven staple for bioactive and breeding setups.

Supplied in 500 ml or 2 L bags, so you can choose the right amount depending on your project size and number of animals.
