Description
Filipinodillo sp ‘Crocodile’ is a distinctive tropical species known for its heavily textured, armour-like appearance. The segmented dorsal plates give a rugged, reptilian look, which inspired its common name. Subtle earthy tones and defined sculpting make this species particularly impressive when viewed up close.
They thrive in warm, stable environments with a well-balanced moisture gradient. Consistent humidity on one side of the enclosure, paired with drier areas for regulation, is essential. A deep, nutrient-rich substrate with ample leaf litter and rotting hardwood supports natural burrowing and feeding behaviour. As with all tropical species, stable temperatures and good airflow are key to long-term success.
Once established, Filipinodillo sp ‘Crocodile’ breeds steadily and becomes a rewarding species to maintain. Ideal for keepers looking to add a more unusual, texture-rich Asian isopod to their collection.
