Description

The Cubaris sp. ‘Blind Saturn’ is a rare and highly sought-after tropical isopod, admired for its smooth, rounded body shape and unique muted colouration. Named for its distinctive appearance, this species is a fantastic addition to any serious Cubaris collection and is particularly appealing to keepers looking for something less commonly seen in the hobby.

Like many Cubaris species, Blind Saturn thrives in warm, humid enclosures with a deep, moisture-retaining substrate rich in decaying hardwood, leaf litter, and limestone or other calcium sources. Good ventilation is essential to prevent stagnant conditions while maintaining consistently high humidity. A varied diet of decomposing organic matter, supplemented with protein and additional calcium, will support healthy moulting, growth, and colony development.

This species reproduces at a moderate pace once well established but benefits from stable environmental conditions and minimal disturbance. Due to its slightly more demanding husbandry requirements, Cubaris sp. ‘Blind Saturn’ is best suited to intermediate and experienced keepers who will appreciate its unusual appearance and rewarding long-term colony growth.
