Description
Ceratogyrus marshalli , commonly known as the Straight Horned Baboon Tarantula, is a fascinating Old World species famous for the distinctive horn-like protuberance on the carapace. Combined with its earthy colouration and impressive burrowing behaviour, this makes it one of the most unique tarantulas in the hobby.

This terrestrial fossorial species thrives in deep substrate, where it will create extensive burrow systems and spend much of its time underground. Given the correct setup, individuals may occasionally sit at the entrance of their burrow, making for an impressive display animal.

Like many African baboon species, C. marshalli is fast, defensive, and possesses potent venom, making it suitable only for experienced keepers. Handling is not recommended.

A truly iconic species for advanced hobbyists looking to add one of the hobby’s most recognisable Old World tarantulas to their collection.
