Description

Armadillidium germanicum is a classic European pillbug species with a neat, compact body and a subtle grey-to-brown colouration. While not as brightly patterned as some of the more ornamental morphs, this species is valued for its hardiness and reliability in captivity.

They thrive in enclosures with a good moisture gradient, solid ventilation, and access to leaf litter and decaying wood for food and shelter. Like many Armadillidium , they can roll into a tight ball when threatened, a behaviour that is always fascinating to observe.
