⚠️ Shipping Update – Heatwave Delays

Due to the ongoing UK heatwave, we've temporarily paused shipping of all live livestock and plants to ensure they arrive safely.

The good news is that temperatures are forecast to drop significantly next week, and we'll be resuming dispatches.

Current dispatch schedule:

  • Orders placed 29th June – 5th July: Dispatching Monday.
  • Orders placed 6th July – 12th July: Dispatching Tuesday & Wednesday.
  • New orders placed from today: Dispatching from 27th July.

We've built up a large backlog during the heatwave, so we're bringing in additional staff and implementing a new workflow to get orders out as quickly as possible.

Description

Armadillidium assimile is a dependable European pillbug species, known for its compact size and resilience in captivity. While not as colourful as some of the more decorative morphs, it has a clean, classic appearance and active behaviour that make it a solid addition to any isopod collection.

This species thrives in a setup with both moist and dry areas, good ventilation, and a steady supply of leaf litter and rotting wood. They are capable of rolling up tightly when disturbed, a trademark behaviour of the Armadillidium genus.

Easy to keep and steady breeders, Armadillidium assimile are suitable for both beginners who want a reliable starter species and experienced keepers looking to expand their range of European isopods.
